The Forever People #1 in context
Why collectors care
The first full appearance of Darkseid, cover-dated February-March 1971, by Jack Kirby. It is the book most collectors treat as the definitive Darkseid key, and part of Kirby's Fourth World, one of the most ambitious runs in comics.
How to identify it
Forever People #1, 1971. The cameo appearance is in Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #134 (1970), also in this catalog. This issue also introduces the Forever People themselves.
Common mistakes
The cameo-versus-full distinction against Jimmy Olsen #134 is the main confusion on this character. Confirm which book a listing holds.
Grade considerations
An early-70s book with a bright Kirby cover that shows spine color-break. High-grade copies with white pages carry a clear premium.
