The Charizard EX 11/106 in context
Why collectors care
Flashfire (2014) was the set that reintroduced Charizard as a modern chase card after the EX era, and this is the base Charizard-EX that anchors it. The XY era is where a generation of collectors who returned to the hobby in the 2010s started, which gives these cards a demand base separate from vintage.
How to identify it
Number 11/106 from Flashfire. The set contains a second Charizard-EX at 12/106 with different artwork, a Mega evolution at 13/106, a full-art at 100/106, and two secret rares at 107/106 and 108/106. Six different Charizard cards in one set.
Common mistakes
Buying 12/106 believing it is 11/106, or paying secret-rare money for the base EX. On any Flashfire Charizard listing the card number is the only thing that identifies which of the six you are getting.
Grade considerations
XY-era EX cards have a textured foil that shows surface scratching, and centering is strictly judged. Print lines through the holo are a frequent cap.
