The Dark Charizard 4/82 in context
Why collectors care
Dark Charizard from Team Rocket (2000) is a nostalgic fan favorite and, at 4/82, an intentional echo of Base Set's 4/102 Charizard. The "Dark" Rocket-era artwork gives it a distinct identity within Charizard collecting.
How to identify it
Number 4/82 from Team Rocket. Available in Unlimited and 1st Edition (the "Edition 1" stamp separates them), and there is also a rarer non-holo version, so confirm holo status and edition.
Common mistakes
Match holo versus non-holo and edition carefully; the premium differs. Do not confuse the Rocket-era Dark Charizard with the Base Set Charizard.
Grade considerations
The darker Team Rocket border shows whitening, and holo scratches and centering limit grades. High-grade 1st Edition holo copies are the scarce, premium tier.
