The Giovanni's Gyarados 5/132 in context
Why collectors care
Giovanni's Gyarados is a Gym Challenge holo pairing the series' original villain with one of its most iconic Pokemon, which gives it demand from both Gym-set collectors and Gyarados character collectors.
How to identify it
Number 5/132 from Gym Challenge (2000). Confirm the set symbol to separate it from the Gym Heroes card at the same number.
Common mistakes
Confusing it with the Team Rocket Dark Gyarados (8/82) or the Neo Revelation Shining Gyarados (65/64), both also in this catalog and at very different price levels.
Grade considerations
Centering and foil scratching limit most copies. The dark blue artwork shows surface marks clearly under grading light.
