The Mewtwo GX (Secret) 78/73 in context
Why collectors care
Shining Legends (2017) was a special-collection set with limited standard booster distribution, and its secret-rare Mewtwo-GX is the chase card. Mewtwo's enduring popularity keeps demand well above the set's other cards.
How to identify it
Number 78/73 from Shining Legends: beyond the 73-card printed total, marking a secret rare. The set also has Mewtwo-GX at 39/73, 72/73 and a rainbow at 76/73, so four Mewtwo-GX variants exist in one set.
Common mistakes
Four different Mewtwo-GX cards in the same set makes number-checking essential. The 39/73 is the common GX and is worth a fraction of the secret rare.
Grade considerations
Centering and surface scratching drive the grade. Special-collection distribution means fewer copies were opened than a mainline set.
