The Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #134 in context
Why collectors care
The cameo first appearance of Darkseid, cover-dated December 1970, in the issue that begins Jack Kirby's Fourth World saga at DC. Darkseid became the definitive DC cosmic villain.
How to identify it
Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #134, December 1970. Darkseid appears only briefly here; his first FULL appearance is Forever People #1 (1971), also in this catalog.
Common mistakes
Both books are sold as "1st Darkseid." This is the cameo and Forever People #1 is the full appearance -- decide which claim you want and confirm it.
Grade considerations
A 1970 book from a title that was not heavily saved. Spine stress and tanning are common; high grade is scarce.
